As the name suggests, the white diet should contain products without colored dyes. It can consist of products with a bright color and those that are free of any dyes at all. Products with artificial colors can be easily recognized because in the food composition they are marked as symbols from E100 to E199. White color is E170 and is calcium carbonate, and E171 - titanium dioxide. Products with this label on the label will not affect the condition of teeth after teeth whitening.
Why is it important to use a white diet?
The tooth whitening diet is very important for maintaining the desired whitening effect of the teeth. If the patient does not adhere to it, it is more likely than not to have slightly aesthetic discolorations on the tooth enamel surface in a short time.
Teeth whitening is an invasive dental procedure or performed at home, the aim of which is to give a brighter color to the teeth of the patient. During its performance, the teeth lose a lot of water and after the treatment they behave like a sponge - they absorb all the dyes from the consumed products - solid food and drinks with greater intensity. In the worst case, this will completely undo the result of whitening and it will go to waste. Dyes from food will discolor the enamel and will cause the whitening procedure to be repeated.
