Endodontics is one of the fastest developing fields of dentistry, dealing with root canal treatment.
Advanced technologies and state-of-the-art equipment, such as an endodontic microscope, allow for more precision in getting deeper into the root canal and “seeing” things invisible to the naked eye. They enable a doctor to clean the canal very precisely and thoroughly and to fill it very tightly, and consequently, to save a tooth.
At the Supradent all endodontic procedures are performed with the aid of a dental surgical microscope. At various stages of the procedure a digital x-ray is taken to track its progress, giving our doctors, but first and foremost you, a guarantee of successful treatment.
Stages of root canal treatment:
- Opening up the tooth chamber and removal of the infected tooth pulp and tissue
- Shaping, cleaning and decontamination of all root canals within a tooth
- Drying the root canal space
- Placing the filling inside infection-free root canals (filling of the canals with barrier materials)
- Filling the tooth
Until recently root canal therapy was associated with discomfort and pain. This is now a thing of the past. Our doctors perform totally pain-free procedures with advanced numbing techniques utilising local anesthetics.
Most root canal procedures can be done in one dental visit.
